泸西县属全省三大风能开发最佳区域之一，自2010年以来，泸西县相继开工建设了李子箐风电场(分五期建设)和永三风电场(分四期建设)。
目前，李子箐风电场一、二、三、四、五期工程，永三风电场一、二期工程均已建成投产发电，共完成投资30.77亿元，装设风力发电机194台，总装机容量约为315MW。
截至12月14日，全县风电场累计上网电量突破19.5亿度，累计节约22.76万吨标准煤，减排二氧化硫372.38吨、氮氧化物404.36吨、二氧化碳61.36万吨。
